Sleep machine trial aims to stop heart flutters after surgery

NCT ID NCT07444372

Summary

This study is testing if using a CPAP machine for sleep apnea after a heart procedure helps prevent the irregular heartbeat from coming back. About 658 adults with both sleep apnea and a specific heart rhythm problem will be randomly assigned to either use the CPAP machine for a year or receive their usual care. Researchers will track if the heart rhythm stays normal over 12 months to see if the CPAP treatment makes a difference.
