Summary
This study looked back at medical records of 2,392 children who had non-heart surgery to see if having a mild cold before the operation increased risks after the COVID-19 pandemic. The goal was to help doctors decide the safest time to schedule surgery for children with cold symptoms. The study found that the pandemic may have changed how these symptoms affect surgery outcomes.
