Massive study reveals COVID-19 risks for autoimmune patients
NCT ID NCT04353609
First seen Jun 02, 2026 · Last updated Jun 13, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study looked back at medical records of nearly 14,000 people with rheumatic or autoimmune diseases who had or were suspected to have COVID-19. The goal was to see how many developed severe COVID-19 needing intensive care or leading to death, and what health factors (like diabetes or obesity) made that more likely. The study did not test any new treatment, but aimed to better understand risks in this specific group.
