This study explored how changes in healthcare during the COVID-19 pandemic (2020-2021) impacted the quality of life and experiences of over 5,000 Dutch patients who had surgery or another medical procedure. Researchers used focus groups and surveys to understand what mattered most to patients. The goal was to learn from these experiences to improve care in future crises.
