Heartburn & arthritis drugs tested as potential COVID-19 fighters

NCT ID NCT05077332

Summary

This trial tested whether a combination of two existing drugs (famotidine and celecoxib) could help hospitalized COVID-19 patients recover faster and prevent severe illness in newly infected people. The study was small, with only 4 total participants, and aimed to see if this drug combo was safe and effective. One part focused on treating moderate-to-severe hospitalized patients, while another part tested if it could prevent severe symptoms after a recent COVID-19 exposure.
