Scientists probe COVID's lingering effects on the brain
NCT ID NCT04564287
Summary
This study aimed to understand why some people continue to have neurological symptoms like dizziness, brain fog, or weakness long after recovering from COVID-19. Researchers at the National Institutes of Health performed detailed brain scans, memory tests, and nervous system exams on 13 adults who had recovered from COVID-19 but still had symptoms, comparing them to people who recovered completely. The goal was to identify physical signs in the brain or nervous system that might explain these persistent problems.
