NCT ID NCT04426006

First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 26, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study looked at how many hospital workers had COVID-19 antibodies and how long they lasted. Over 500 staff at a French cancer center gave blood samples and answered questionnaires at the start, 3 months, and 12 months. The goal was to understand immune response in people who may be exposed to the virus at work.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

What this could lead to

If successful, this study could help answer how long COVID-19 antibodies last in healthcare workers and guide infection control policies.

What could go wrong

This is an observational study, not a treatment trial. It only measures antibodies and cannot predict protection from future infection or severe disease.
