Walk together, stay healthier: new study pairs couples to fight diabetes

NCT ID NCT07142512

Summary

This study tests if adding couples counseling to a walking program helps people with type 2 diabetes become more active and improve their blood sugar control. 200 couples, where one person has type 2 diabetes, will get step counters and walking goals. Half the couples will also get counseling to improve how they communicate and support each other. Researchers will check if this combined approach leads to more daily steps and better health outcomes than the walking program alone.
