Could a gene be driving high blood pressure in guadeloupe?

NCT ID NCT07330804

First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 17 times

Summary

This study looks at whether a specific change in the Corin gene (called I555/P568) makes people of African descent in Guadeloupe more likely to develop high blood pressure. Researchers will compare 370 adults—some with high blood pressure and some without—to see if this gene variant is more common in those with the condition. The goal is to better understand why high blood pressure is so common in this population, which could lead to better prevention or treatment in the future.
