Dialysis patients' blood pressure mystery: could a simple blood test hold the clue?

NCT ID NCT07438925

First seen Mar 11, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 12 times

Summary

This study looks at whether a hormone called vasopressin, measured through a stable marker called copeptin, is linked to blood pressure changes during dialysis. Researchers will test blood samples from 71 adults on long-term dialysis and compare them with blood pressure readings taken before, during, and after treatment. The goal is to better understand what causes blood pressure to rise during dialysis, which could help improve care for kidney patients.
