Scientists hunt for blood test to gauge COPD danger

Summary
This study aims to see if measuring certain proteins in the blood can help doctors predict how severe a COPD flare-up will be. Researchers will enroll 75 adults hospitalized for a COPD attack. They will check blood levels of a lung protein and other inflammation markers to see if they correlate with how sick patients get and their recovery.
