Can a pharmacist's call keep COPD patients out of the hospital?

NCT ID NCT03704545

Summary

This study tested whether having a pharmacist check in with people who have chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) after they leave the hospital could help them stay healthier at home. Researchers followed 174 adults with moderate to severe COPD for a year to see if these consultations reduced dangerous symptom flare-ups and the need for emergency doctor or hospital visits. The goal was to see if better support with medications and inhalers could help control the disease.
