Scientists probe hidden nerve link in lung disease

NCT ID NCT04849806

Summary

This study aims to understand why the body's 'fight-or-flight' nervous system is overactive in people with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD). Researchers will measure nerve activity in 135 adults with COPD and compare them to healthy people to see if sleep apnea, lung pressure, or inflammation are linked to this overactivity. The goal is to gather knowledge about the disease, not to test a new treatment.
