Chilling after heart stopping: could cooling save more brains?
NCT ID NCT07086703
First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 06, 2026 · Updated 26 times
Summary
This study looks at whether lowering body temperature to 33°C (hypothermia) after a cardiac arrest that happens in the hospital helps more people survive with good brain function compared to keeping them at a normal temperature. About 788 adults who are unconscious after being revived will be randomly assigned to one of two temperature management strategies. The goal is to see if cooling leads to better outcomes six months later.
