Could a safer, No-Needle MRI replace Dye-Based breast scans?
NCT ID NCT05006196
First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study is testing whether a special MRI that does not require a contrast dye injection can accurately detect breast cancer or other breast diseases. Over 1,000 women at risk or with suspected breast issues will receive the new MRI alongside standard care. The goal is to see if this safer, more comfortable approach can match or beat current methods.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
What this could lead to
If successful, this could lead to a safer, needle-free MRI method for breast cancer screening, reducing patient discomfort and risk from contrast agents.
What could go wrong
This is an early observational study, not a treatment trial. The new MRI technique may not be as accurate as standard methods, and results may not apply to all patients.
