Brain monitor may cut painkiller use during thyroid surgery

Summary

This study tests a non-invasive monitor (Conox) that tracks brain activity during anesthesia for thyroid surgery. The goal is to see if using this monitor helps doctors give less pain medication and helps patients wake up faster with less confusion. About 90 adults having thyroid surgery will take part.
