First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 26, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests a new device called the CONDA stent retriever, which is used to remove blood clots from the brain in people having a stroke. About 50 patients will be treated within 24 hours of their symptoms starting. The goal is to see if the device is safe and works well at restoring blood flow.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
CONDA stent retriever (a device to remove blood clots from brain arteries)
What this could lead to
If successful, this could provide a new, safe option for quickly restoring blood flow in stroke patients, potentially reducing disability.
What could go wrong
This is an early, small study with only 50 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. There is a risk of bleeding in the brain from the procedure.
