New dental tech aims to ease pain for kids with sensitive teeth
NCT ID NCT07352813
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study compares two computer-assisted anesthesia methods—intraosseous and infiltration—to see which works better for children aged 6-12 with Molar-Incisor Hypomineralization (MIH), a condition causing sensitive teeth. Researchers will measure pain, stress, and heart rate in 30 children during dental treatment. The goal is to find a more effective way to numb teeth and reduce discomfort.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Articaine hydrochloride with epinephrine (adrenaline) 1:100,000
What this could lead to
If successful, this could provide a more comfortable and less stressful dental experience for children with sensitive teeth due to MIH.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage study with only 30 children, so results may not apply to everyone. The anesthesia techniques are already used in practice, so the main question is which works better, not a breakthrough.
