Simpler weight loss surgery tested for fewer side effects
NCT ID NCT07115836
Summary
This study compares two types of intestinal bypass surgery performed after a previous stomach reduction surgery for severe obesity. Researchers want to see if a newer, simpler surgical connection causes fewer digestive problems and nutritional deficiencies than the standard method, even if it might lead to slightly less weight loss. The study involves 63 people who had stomach reduction surgery at least 18 months ago but still have significant obesity-related health issues.
