Heart stent showdown: which medicated device keeps arteries open best?
NCT ID NCT07190690
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Aug 11, 2026 · Updated 6 times
Summary
This study compares two medicated stents (tiny mesh tubes) used to open blocked heart arteries in people having a heart attack or unstable angina. About 2,100 participants will receive either a sirolimus-eluting stent (ihtDEStiny) or an everolimus-eluting stent (Xience). Researchers will track heart-related deaths, heart attacks, and repeat procedures over 12 months to see which stent performs better.
