Heated chemo showdown: trial tests two methods to fight cancer spread in the abdomen
NCT ID NCT01815359
Summary
This study is comparing two methods of delivering heated chemotherapy directly into the abdomen after surgery for appendix or colorectal cancer that has spread there. About 292 patients will be randomly assigned to receive either chemotherapy right after surgery or a heated version during surgery. The main goal is to see which method is better at keeping the cancer from coming back and to understand the side effects of each approach.
