New suture technique may reduce complications after hysterectomy for gynecologic cancers
NCT ID NCT07313839
First seen Jan 09, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 22 times
Summary
This study compares two types of stitches used to close the top of the vagina after a hysterectomy (removal of the uterus) for gynecologic cancers. The goal is to see if a newer double-layer self-locking stitch reduces complications like infection, bleeding, or reopening of the incision compared to traditional stitches. About 310 women will take part, and results will be checked within three months after surgery.
