New study tests best way to save Kids' decayed baby teeth
NCT ID NCT02298504
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study looks at three different ways to treat deep cavities in children's baby molars without pulling the tooth. The treatments are two types of pulpotomy (removing part of the tooth nerve and placing a material on it) and an indirect pulp cap (leaving some decay and sealing it). The goal is to see which method works best to keep the tooth healthy and pain-free. About 76 children with deep decay but no signs of serious infection will take part.
