Study tests safer way to detect prostate cancer

NCT ID NCT04081636

Summary

This study compared two different methods for taking prostate tissue samples to check for cancer. Researchers randomly assigned 840 men needing a biopsy to either the standard method (through the rectum) or an alternative method (through the skin). The goal was to see which approach causes fewer infections, is more comfortable, and is better at finding cancer.
