450 patients to help solve which pain pill works best

Summary

This study aims to find out which of two common pain medication classes—anticonvulsants or antidepressants—works better for chronic pain in everyday patients. Researchers will enroll 450 adults with persistent pain and randomly assign them to one of the two drug types. The goal is to improve treatment decisions by learning which patient characteristics predict a better response to each medication.
