New mammogram machine aims to spot breast cancer earlier
NCT ID NCT07067788
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study compares a new mammogram machine (Siemens MAMMOMAT B.brilliant) to a standard one (Siemens MAMMOMAT Revelation) to see if it provides clearer images of breast calcifications, which can be a sign of cancer. About 100 women with suspicious calcifications will get both scans. The goal is to improve early detection without any new treatments or risks beyond a standard mammogram.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- Mammogram machine (Siemens MAMMOMAT B.brilliant)
- What this could lead to
- If successful, this could lead to more accurate breast cancer screening by improving the detection of suspicious calcifications.
- What could go wrong
- This is a small, early-stage observational study (100 participants) comparing two FDA-approved machines. It does not test a new treatment, and results may not change current screening practices.
