Key trial tests less invasive stomach cancer surgery against traditional open approach

Summary
This study compares two surgical methods for removing the entire stomach in people with locally advanced gastric cancer. About 1,018 adults aged 18-75 with tumors in the middle or upper stomach will be randomly assigned to either laparoscopic (keyhole) or open surgery. The main goal is to see which approach leads to longer overall survival and better recovery.
