Heart failure lung fluid: which drug is best?

NCT ID NCT05276219

First seen Apr 28, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This study compares three emergency treatments for fluid buildup in the lungs caused by acute heart failure: a standard diuretic (furosemide), a vasodilator (isosorbide dinitrate), or both together. About 1,100 adults with sudden breathing trouble and low oxygen will receive one of these treatments within minutes of arriving at the hospital. The goal is to see which approach helps people survive and stay out of the hospital for 30 days.
