First seen Jan 09, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 22 times

Summary

This study tested whether a new extended-release version of the diuretic torsemide helps people with heart failure get rid of more salt (sodium) in their urine after lunch compared to the standard immediate-release version. Twenty adults with stable heart failure who were already taking a diuretic took part. The goal was to see if the longer-acting pill works better at preventing fluid buildup without harming the kidneys.
