Guided dental implants beat freehand in accuracy and recovery
NCT ID NCT06764784
First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 07, 2026 · Updated 15 times
Summary
This study tested three ways to place dental implants in 90 adults with some missing teeth: freehand, pilot-drilled, and fully guided surgery. Fully guided surgery was the most accurate, had the shortest recovery, and made patients happiest. Freehand surgery was less precise and had more complications. The goal is to help patients and dentists choose the best method for long-lasting results.
