Heart stent patients: which blood thinner plan cuts bleeding best?

NCT ID NCT05681702

First seen Nov 06, 2025 · Last updated May 06, 2026 · Updated 29 times

Summary

This study compares two strategies to reduce bleeding in people with coronary artery disease who have had a stent placed and are on blood thinners. One approach switches to a milder antiplatelet drug while keeping aspirin, and the other stops aspirin while keeping a stronger drug. The goal is to see which method better prevents blood clots and bleeding. About 90 adults who have been on dual therapy for at least 30 days to 3 months will participate.
