New study aims to make obesity surgery safer by testing better airway predictions
NCT ID NCT07316179
First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 17 times
Summary
This study looks at 52 adults having weight-loss surgery to see which method better predicts a difficult breathing tube placement: a standard checklist or an ultrasound. Participants get both checks before surgery, and doctors record how the tube goes in. The goal is to find a more accurate way to plan ahead and keep patients safe.
