Local community workers tackle racial disparities in kidney disease care

NCT ID NCT06378476

Summary

This study tested whether training community health workers and doctors in trauma-informed care could improve life quality for people with advanced kidney disease in underserved urban neighborhoods. It focused on Black and Hispanic patients who often face barriers to the best kidney care. The research compared usual care to two approaches: one adding trained community health workers, and another just training clinic staff.
