Neighbors helping neighbors fight chronic pain
NCT ID NCT05278234
Summary
This study tests whether community health workers can effectively teach pain management strategies to older adults with chronic pain. Over 400 primarily African American older adults will receive 7 weeks of phone sessions and mobile tools to learn coping skills, compared to a group receiving usual care. The goal is to see if this approach reduces how much pain interferes with daily life and improves participants' ability to manage their pain.
