First seen Jun 27, 2026 ยท Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study looked at how to help hospitals follow new guidelines for managing pain after childbirth, with the goal of reducing opioid use while still controlling pain effectively. Researchers worked with 69 hospitals in Michigan and tested two approaches: a basic training program and an enhanced version with extra support for hospitals that needed it. The study measured how often opioids were prescribed and in what amounts, and checked for any differences based on patient or hospital factors.
