New antibody COM701 aims to keep ovarian cancer at bay
NCT ID NCT06888921
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This clinical trial tests whether the experimental antibody COM701 can delay the return of ovarian cancer in people whose cancer has come back but still responds to platinum chemotherapy. About 60 participants will receive COM701 or a placebo every three weeks as maintenance therapy. The study will measure how long the cancer stays under control and monitor for side effects.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- COM701 (an experimental antibody)
- What this could lead to
- If it works, this could provide a new maintenance option to delay ovarian cancer recurrence after chemotherapy.
- What could go wrong
- This is an early Phase 1/2 trial with only 60 participants, so results may not apply broadly. Side effects are still being studied, and the drug may not slow cancer progression.
