Mother's first milk tested as a shield for Preemies' lungs

NCT ID NCT07482007

Summary

This study is testing if using a mother's colostrum (first milk) for mouth care works better than standard antiseptic rinses to prevent pneumonia in premature babies who need breathing machines. Researchers will compare colostrum to chlorhexidine and sodium bicarbonate in 80 preemies. The goal is to find the safest and most effective way to protect these vulnerable babies from a serious lung infection.
