New study finds best way to spot dangerous polyps during colonoscopy
NCT ID NCT01521091
First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 24 times
Summary
This study tested three different colonoscopy techniques to see which one best predicts whether colorectal growths are cancerous. Over 500 patients with at least one growth larger than 6mm took part. The results showed that narrow band imaging (a special light filter) works as well as dye-based methods and may be the best first choice for accurate diagnosis.
