Scientists try to 'Wake Up' immune system to fight tough colon cancers

NCT ID NCT02512172

Summary

This study tested whether adding two drugs that can modify how genes work (epigenetic modulators) could help a type of immunotherapy (MK-3475) work better for people with a hard-to-treat form of advanced colorectal cancer. It involved 27 adults whose cancer had progressed despite prior treatments. The main goals were to see if the drug combinations were safe and if they could change the immune cells inside tumors.
