Cancer treatment before surgery may harm blood vessels and slow healing, study investigates

NCT ID NCT07422974

Summary

This study aims to understand how chemotherapy or radiation given before colorectal cancer surgery affects patients' blood vessels and healing. Researchers will compare 68 patients—half who received pre-surgery treatment and half who went straight to surgery—by examining tissue samples and tracking complications. The goal is to learn why some patients experience more surgical complications and slower recovery.
