Colonoscopy could reveal Parkinson's years before symptoms

NCT ID NCT07204652

Summary

This study is testing whether doctors can detect Parkinson's disease earlier by looking for a specific protein in colon tissue samples taken during routine colonoscopies. Researchers are enrolling 20 adults with Parkinson's who are already scheduled for colon cancer screening. The goal is to find a way to diagnose Parkinson's before symptoms like tremors appear, which could allow for earlier treatment.
