Surgery drug showdown: which one boosts cancer Patients' immune systems?

Summary

This study is testing which of two common drugs works better to support the body's defenses and recovery after colon cancer surgery. One hundred patients will be randomly assigned to receive either an infusion of lidocaine or a high dose of dexamethasone during their operation. Researchers will measure immune system markers and track recovery to see if one drug leads to fewer complications and a smoother healing process.
