New program tackles barriers to Life-Saving colon cancer checks in High-Risk community

NCT ID NCT03640208

Summary

This study tested an 11-step community program designed to help more African Americans get screened for colon cancer. It worked with 163 people aged 45-75 who were overdue for screening, providing education, risk assessment, and practical help to overcome common barriers like cost, transportation, and scheduling. The goal was to see if this comprehensive approach could effectively increase screening rates in a group with high rates of colon cancer.
