Colon cancer clues: DNA repair type linked to spread patterns
NCT ID NCT06798857
First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 20 times
Summary
This study looked at 1,471 people with colon cancer to see how their tumor's DNA repair system (called mismatch repair status) relates to where cancer spreads in lymph nodes and how long patients live. Researchers compared two types: pMMR (normal repair) and dMMR (defective repair). The goal is to help doctors decide who might need less extensive surgery. No new treatment was tested; this was an observation of past patient data.
