Green tea extract under the PET scanner: can we see it fight lung scarring?

NCT ID NCT06265532

First seen Jan 28, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 17 times

Summary

This study tested whether a special PET scan can detect changes in lung collagen (scar tissue) in people with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) after taking a green tea extract called EGCG. Twelve participants from a larger EGCG study received the PET scan before and after treatment. The goal was to see if the scan could measure the drug's effect and help choose the right dose.
