New test could spot superbug resistance faster
NCT ID NCT07487116
First seen Mar 25, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 7 times
Summary
This study looks at a simpler lab test (disk elution) to detect colistin resistance in multi-drug resistant bacteria from 90 hospitalized patients. Researchers will compare it to the standard method and also check for resistance genes. The goal is to make detection easier and faster, not to treat the infection directly.
