Common drug tested to calm inflamed leg arteries

NCT ID NCT06212271

Summary

This small, early-stage study is testing whether a low dose of the anti-inflammatory drug colchicine can reduce inflammation in the leg arteries of people with peripheral artery disease. Researchers will compare 24 patients taking colchicine for four weeks to those taking a placebo pill. The main goal is to see if the drug lowers inflammation levels measured by a special scan before the patients undergo a planned artery-clearing surgery.
