First seen Jan 07, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 24 times
Summary
This study tests whether a low dose of colchicine, a common anti-inflammatory drug, can reduce the risk of post-thrombotic syndrome (long-term leg pain and swelling) after a deep vein thrombosis (DVT). The trial will enroll 150 adults with a first DVT to see if it's possible to run a larger study. Participants will take colchicine or a placebo daily for a period, and researchers will track how many people develop post-thrombotic syndrome.
