Can a common gout pill ease pain from calcium crystal arthritis?

Summary

This study tests whether the drug colchicine can lower inflammation and reduce joint pain in people with calcium pyrophosphate deposition (CPPD) disease. About 150 adults with active joint symptoms will take either colchicine or a placebo daily for 6 months. Researchers will measure blood markers of inflammation and track pain scores to see if the drug helps.
