Teens earn rewards for taking insulin in new diabetes study

NCT ID NCT05280184

Summary

This study tested whether a program using text message reminders and small rewards could help teenagers with type 1 diabetes take their mealtime insulin more consistently. Researchers enrolled 173 teens who were already using insulin pumps but struggling with their daily insulin routine. The goal was to see if this behavioral 'nudge' system could improve their long-term blood sugar levels and overall diabetes management.
